TSMC has received a large number of AI chip orders with sub-7nm technology

Jiweiwang news, according to the Electronic Times, industry sources revealed that TSMC has won a large number of orders for artificial intelligence chips due to the surge in demand for generative artificial intelligence applications with its sub-7nm process manufacturing.

TSMC has seen an increase in orders for Nvidia's AI chips over the past few months, sources said.Relevant media also quoted market sources as reporting that orders for Nvidia's A100 and H100,two high-performance GPUs for data centers, are increasing, and they have also increased their wafer production at TSMC.

Relevant media mentioned that Nvidia’s H100 GPU uses TSMC’s 4nm process technology, while A100 uses 7nm process technology.Nvidia’s increased wafer production at TSMC will also fill the capacity gap in related process technologies after MediaTek cuts orders.

TSMC currently sees no real competitors in the sub-7nm process that supports AI chip manufacturing.Intel has returned to foundry but has yet to make any meaningful progress.

AI chip customers can choose between TSMC and Samsung OEM chips. However, sources revealed that Samsung lags behind TSMC in node advancement, and Samsung also caters to in-house chip production.

Sources said China's demand for Nvidia's AI chips has been strong.Alibaba Cloud,Baidu AICloud and Tencent Cloud are all actively acquiring artificial intelligence chips. In addition, demand for Nvidia's AI chips from cloud service providers in other parts of the world is also strong.
